Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hosts Successful Business Breakfast with New Caledonia Trade Delegation

Port Moresby, 29 October 2025 — The Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry (POMCCI) successfully hosted a Business Breakfast in honour of the visiting New Caledonia Trade Delegation at the Royal Papua Yacht Club this morning.

The event, which attracted approximately 80 representatives from Port Moresby’s private sector, provided a platform for constructive engagement and dialogue on potential partnerships and trade cooperation between the business communities of Port Moresby and New Caledonia.

In attendance were the President of the Government of New Caledonia, Mr. Alcide Ponga, and the French Ambassador to Papua New Guinea, His Excellency Pierre Fournier, both of whom reaffirmed their support for strengthening economic and diplomatic relations between the two nations.

During the breakfast, members of the visiting delegation were given the opportunity to present their companies and areas of expertise, which spanned a wide range of sectors including business consultancy, manufacturing, logistics, training, mining and engineering, technology, and agricultural production.

The presentations were followed by productive networking discussions, which highlighted shared interests and identified areas for cooperation and business partnerships.

The trade delegation’s visit to Papua New Guinea, led by the New Caledonia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI-NC) under Team France Export, aims to build stronger regional linkages and foster new commercial opportunities across the Pacific.

POMCCI commends the delegation’s initiative and extends its appreciation to all members, partners, and guests who participated in this morning’s event. The Chamber remains committed to facilitating meaningful engagement between the private sector and international partners to promote business growth and economic development in Papua New Guinea.
